Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure software applications within a healthcare SaaS environment.

As a member of an Agile Scrum team, the developer will take ownership of assigned user stories from refinement and technical design through implementation, testing, code review, and deployment. This role requires strong full-stack engineering skills, an understanding of complex business workflows, and the ability to translate requirements into high-quality, production-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate is proactive, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed environment. They demonstrate sound technical judgment, balance engineering quality with business priorities, and leverage modern development practices, including AI-assisted engineering tools, to improve productivity and delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend services, APIs, and frontend applications using Python, FastAPI, React, and related technologies.

End-to-End Story Ownership: Own assigned user stories throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements clarification and implementation planning to coding, testing, code review, and deployment.

Agile Scrum Delivery: Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate with the Product Owner, Scrum team, and stakeholders to deliver sprint commitments.

Requirements Analysis: Work with the Product Owner, Project Manager and team members to understand acceptance criteria, clarify business rules, identify dependencies, and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Technical Design: Develop maintainable, scalable, and well-structured solutions that align with application architecture, engineering standards, and business needs.

Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit, integration, and other appropriate automated tests. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.

Code Quality and Collaboration: Participate in code reviews, follow established coding standards, document technical decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.

Operational Ownership: Investigate and resolve application issues, support production stability, and contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive improvements as appropriate.

Security and Compliance: Follow secure coding practices and applicable privacy, security, and compliance requirements for healthcare and other regulated systems.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, maintainability, developer productivity, and engineering workflows.

AI-Assisted Development: Evaluate and use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to accelerate implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while maintaining code quality, security, and accountability for all delivered work.

Communication and Accountability: Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and dependencies proactively. Take responsibility for delivery commitments and work collaboratively to resolve challenges.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of professional software engineering experience

Strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, AWS, and distributed systems

Solid understanding of React and frontend architecture

Experience owning delivery across remote engineering teams

Strong operational mindset with a bias toward action and accountability

Ability to quickly understand complex business logic and domain workflows

Strong judgment balancing technical quality with business urgency

Experience improving engineering productivity, workflows, or developer effectiveness

Comfortable making decisions and driving execution under ambiguity

Excellent communication and organizational instincts

Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)

Experience operating in security-conscious or regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated SaaS environments

Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar frameworks

Experience using AI-assisted engineering workflows in production environments

Exposure to event-driven or message-based architectures
